Trust maintenance is extremely important in keeping a Living Trust up to date. This means that the Trust complies with the law, with changing circumstances (trustees change, children grow up, etc), and with the attorney’s recommendations for maximum protections and flexibility.
Most people put their trust booklets away and forget about them, and before long the trust is outdated. This means, for example, that people who are appointed for important positions, such as successor trustees, are no longer able to serve. In some cases provisions for children are badly out of date and do not meet the children’s needs or the trustmakers’ desires.
We are one of a very few law firms in the Phoenix area offering a trust maintenance program. The fee for our program is currently $295 per year and guarantees that all maintenance plan clients will be invited to at least one maintenance meeting per year and will have access to our staff for updating and funding as issues arise.
